9-Year-Old Raises Nearly $80,000 to Provide Bulletproof Vests for Police Dogs

While many kids dream of becoming police officers someday, 9-year-old Brady Snakovsky from Strongsville, Ohio, is already working hard to support law enforcement in a remarkable way.

Brady, a third grader with aspirations of joining the police force, was inspired to take action after watching his favorite show, Live PD. He noticed that one of the K-9 officers featured on the show was not wearing a bulletproof vest. Concerned for the safety of police dogs, Brady decided he wanted to help.

He approached his mom with the idea of buying a vest for a K-9 in need. However, they soon discovered that these vests cost around $1,200 each, a price that was beyond what they could afford alone. Determined not to give up, Brady and his mom, Leah Tornabene, founded a non-profit organization called Brady’s K9 Fund and launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise money.

A Mission of Protection

The project has been an incredible success. Thanks to Brady’s dedication and the generosity of donors, the campaign has raised over $77,000 to date. With these funds, Brady’s K9 Fund has donated 79 bulletproof vests to police dogs across the country.

One recipient of Brady’s generosity, the Mendon Police Division, shared their gratitude on Twitter, saying:

“K9 Policeman Pichel and K9 Brady would like to thank a very special boy, Brady Snakovsky. Brady donated an LOF Defence Road Fighter Vest to the Mendon Police Division K9 System.”

Making a Difference

Brady’s efforts have garnered widespread attention and support, and his mission continues to grow. His goal is to ensure that all police dogs have access to protective vests, keeping them safe while they serve their communities.
