Devoted Dog Owner Takes His Sick Labradoodle on One Last Mountain Hike in a Wheelbarrow

These heartfelt images capture a man taking his dying dog on a final journey up their favorite mountain in a wheelbarrow.

Carlos Fresco and his beloved 10-year-old Labradoodle, Monty, shared a deep bond, often hiking together in the Brecon Beacons of Wales. Over the years, they had climbed these beautiful trails many times side by side.

When Monty fell ill and started to weaken, Fresco knew he wanted to give his loyal companion one last adventure. Determined to make it happen, he returned to the Brecon Beacons, staying with friends in Brecon so he and Monty could share one final trip together.

With the help of a wheelbarrow, Fresco pushed Monty to the summit of Pen y Fan, the highest peak in the range. Along the way, many hikers stopped to greet them, offering kind words and affection for Monty.

Despite his frailty, Monty soaked up the love and attention from numerous well-wishers. Fresco shared, “Although he was weak, he enjoyed all the fuss and attention he received.”

It was a touching farewell between a devoted owner and his cherished companion.
