According to a post by Paws of War, a nonprofit organization that trains service dogs for veterans and first responders, the commander immediately recognized that the little pup wouldn’t survive alone in such a harsh environment. Remembering his unit’s motto, “Those who arrive alive, leave alive,” he scooped up the pup, knowing it applied to this tiny soul as well.
Word about Griffon spread quickly across the base, and soon, everyone wanted to meet him.
As Griffon received care and love, he formed an unbreakable bond with the commander. The pup, affectionately named Little Griffon, became part of the family and brought joy to everyone around him.
When it was time for the commander to return to the United States, he made the heartwarming decision to adopt Griffon and bring him home.
According to Paws of War spokesperson Gary Baumann, despite limited details, the reunion between Griffon and his hero is set to happen soon.
In an interview with The Dodo, Baumann described Griffon as a happy and affectionate puppy. “He’s doing great, loves eating, and enjoys meeting every dog he comes across,” he shared.
Baumann added, “We’re looking forward to their reunion soon. The commander, who is from Maryland, will welcome Griffon home, where he will be embraced by a loving family, including his wife and children.”
In another inspiring display of resilience, an injured kitten, unfazed by a minor paw ailment, affectionately shared purrs, demonstrating love and strength despite the challenges.
