One sunny afternoon in the heart of the jungle, a wild elephant was on the hunt for his next sweet treat. With a craving for sugarcane, he knew exactly where to find it.
As he made his way through the lush greenery, he spotted a group of trucks passing by, each one loaded with bundles of sugarcane. Without hesitation, the elephant stepped onto the road, eager to snatch a few pieces of the delicious stalks.
However, as he neared the trucks, he came across an unexpected sight— a small family of monkeys had already claimed the sugarcane, happily feasting on the juicy stalks.
For a moment, the elephant hesitated. He felt a twinge of guilt at the thought of barging in and taking the sugarcane for himself. Instead, he chose to wait patiently by the roadside, watching as the playful monkeys enjoyed their meal.
Eventually, after eating to their hearts’ content, the monkeys grew tired and wandered off, leaving behind a few scattered stalks of sugarcane. Seizing the opportunity, the elephant carefully approached the leftovers, picked up a stalk, and savored the sweet taste as he chewed.
Even as he relished his treat, the elephant couldn’t help but feel a sense of gratitude towards the little monkey family. Without them, he might not have had the chance to enjoy the sugarcane at all.
