Pam Ishiguro, who lives in Orange County, keeps a flock of seven ducks, one of whom is named Rudy. When Pam first introduced her dog, Barclay, to the ducks, he wasn’t particularly interested.
At first, Barclay showed little curiosity about the ducks. But once he realized that being friends with them meant gaining access to their tasty treats, his attitude quickly changed! According to Pam, Barclay now enjoys indulging in the same food as his feathered companions.
No matter how their friendship began, it’s clear that Rudy and Barclay have developed a deep affection for each other. While Rudy may take the lead in their relationship, with Barclay playing the more submissive role, Pam has witnessed firsthand just how well they get along.
Ishiguro describes their bond as a love-hate dynamic. When they’re together, they love to playfully jump over and chase each other, but when they’re apart, they seem to bicker constantly—almost like siblings. Their interactions are both adorable and entertaining.
