One day, a team member discovered a tiny, hairless puppy abandoned in front of a property, taking shelter in a dog house. Despite their extensive experience, the rescuers were shocked by her condition.
The pup was suffering from a severe case of mange, leaving her bald and in pain, along with an infection in one of her eyes.
Desi, a rescue worker, revealed that the poor dog had spent her entire life in a cage, exploited for breeding. When she was no longer considered “cute and healthy,” her captors heartlessly abandoned her on the streets. However, Desi was able to coax her out of hiding and showered her with the love and care she desperately needed.
They named her Lucy Ray, and as her health improved, her true personality began to shine. Her rescuers described her as incredibly affectionate and always eager to cuddle.
Over the next seven weeks, Lucy Ray regained her strength, gained weight, and learned to interact with other dogs. She experienced simple joys for the first time—walking on grass and feeling the warmth of a loving home.
