One of the largest litters ever recorded in the UK was recently born to a two-year-old Rottweiler named Jessie. Eleanor Usher was astonished when her family pet gave birth to fifteen puppies, making it the second-largest litter in the country. Usher had initially expected only five puppies. Her husband, Ian, has prepared a makeshift feeding plan for the dogs, which will be available for sale in six to eight weeks. Jessie, an incredibly independent mother, insists on feeding the puppies herself without any assistance. The litter has been cuddling peacefully at night and nursing from their mother almost constantly. Remarkably, Jessie has also been caring for Usher’s seven-year-old cat, Mini.

According to a recent photograph published by SWNS, the newborn puppies feed in a continuous cycle. Eleanor, a mother of four from Telford, Shropshire, shared her surprise when she heard scratching noises at the bottom of the stairs at 1:50 am on Sunday. Jessie had already given birth to one puppy under the stairs and another nearby, all without the owners’ knowledge. Eleanor and Ian were astonished by the sight and decided to closely monitor the process. Due to the high cost of an ultrasound, they had anticipated only six to eight puppies. When Jessie reached the sixth puppy, Eleanor jokingly told her she could stop, thinking it was more than enough.
The tiny puppies are now nestled in a cozy bed made from any available materials.
An organized queue is being formed for those interested in purchasing the puppies, which will be ready for adoption in six to eight weeks. The sheer number of puppies was a complete surprise, as Jessie appeared to have an endless supply of new arrivals. The owners did not even need to assist during the birth process, as each puppy was delivered effortlessly. They were in shock when the count reached eleven, surpassing the previous UK record of eighteen. At one point, they feared the number could reach twenty, but fortunately, the birthing process concluded around 8 am. The smallest and largest puppies have been named Daisy and Walter, respectively, while the others remain unnamed due to their similar appearances.
