For nearly two months, Max the dog was missing, leaving his family heartbroken and fearing they might never see him again. Max disappeared in May in San Antonio, Texas, and despite desperate searches, he couldn’t seem to find his way home.
Everything changed when Deputy Perez from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a stray dog wandering through a local neighborhood.
Deputy Perez immediately recalled a missing dog flyer posted at the substation for a dog named Max. Acting on this memory, Perez responded to the call—and incredibly, the dog he found was indeed Max! Without delay, he contacted Max’s family to confirm the happy news. Soon after, they were reunited in an emotional and heartwarming moment.
Though no one knows how Max managed to survive on his own for so long, his family was overjoyed to have him back. The reunion was especially emotional for Max’s two young human sisters. One of the little girls couldn’t stop crying tears of pure happiness as she hugged Max tightly, overwhelmed with relief and joy.
Thanks to Deputy Perez and the compassionate person who reported seeing Max, the beloved pup is now safely back home.
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office shared this touching story on Facebook, and it quickly went viral, garnering over 1,500 shares.
