We’ve witnessed countless acts of kindness and unexpected friendships between animals of different species. When it comes to caring for those in need, nothing compares to a dog’s loving heart. Often called man’s best friend, dogs can just as easily be everyone’s best friend. These two giant St. Bernards are no exception.
Julie and Basiel are two affectionate St. Bernards living on a farm in Belgium. Despite their large size, they are gentle giants with a caring nature. From the moment they arrived at the farm, they took on the role of protective parents, showing love and care to every animal there. Whether it’s chicks, cows, donkeys, or even cats, all the animals find comfort in the presence of Julie and Basiel.
However, among all their farm companions, the two dogs have formed an especially unique bond with the liveliest resident—Hans, a baby goat. Ever since Hans arrived at the farm, the protective canines instinctively stepped in and took on the role of his guardians.
“He learns a lot from the dogs,” Isolde, the trio’s owner, told The Dodo. “They don’t bother the chickens, so he doesn’t either. He loves sunbathing with the dogs, enjoys going on walks with me and them, but his favorite thing is napping alongside them.”
It’s truly heartwarming to see animals from different species living together in harmony, caring for one another. Perhaps there’s a lesson here for all of us!
“He also loves climbing on things—especially the dogs,” Isolde added.
